Notarial

A Notary is a qualified lawyer – a member of the third and oldest branch of the legal profession in the United Kingdom (i.e. Solicitors, Barristers and Notaries) and is appointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Notaries practising in England and Wales hold an internationally recognised office – the signature and seal of which are recognised as evidence of a responsible legal officer in most countries of the world.

Jane Lonergan is a partner and Notary and can act as an impartial and legally trained witness to authenticate and certify the execution of documents required or intended for use outside the UK.  This will very often be required for legal transactions with an international element, for example:

• Witnessing Powers of Attorney for use overseas;
• Legalisation of documents;
• Buying property abroad;
• International affidavits;
• Authentication of identity and signature;
• Shipping documentation including Bills of Protest
• Documentation relating to Bills of Exchange
