“Alison inspires trust thanks to her pragmatic approach and penchant for outlining matters clearly to clients.”

Chambers UK

Alison specialises in rural property matters, in particular acting for landowners on developments of predominantly green field sites throughout England. Alison trained at Wilsons and qualified as a solicitor in 1992, and was made a partner in 1998. At various stages during her career Alison has headed up the Property Team and sat on the firm's management board. She continues to be the client partner contact for many of the firm's estate clients.

Alison's development experience includes residential development, employment development and light industrial development. This encompasses agreements relating to options, promotion, overage/clawback, equalisation and consortia.  She also has considerable experience in dealing with conditional contracts and negotiating section 106 agreements. From time to time she is asked to give independent advice as to the enforceability of existing agreements.  Alison also acts for banks in the taking of security over agricultural property and development land. As well as landed estates Alison's clients also include schools, Oxford Colleges, charities and farmers/farm owners and she is often called in to assist other teams within the firm on complex land transactions (including high value sales and purchases), as well as other advisory work.

A recent highlight for Alison was her involvement in the sale of a large estate near Winchester for in excess of £60 million.  This will be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, land transactions of this year.

She is a regular speaker at Agrilaw and other seminars and has published articles for the Farmland Market, The Times and The Telegraph.

Outside of work Alison enjoys holidaying in Spanish speaking countries and relaxing in the sun.  She speaks Spanish and would like to have more time to practice playing her classical guitar.
