Wilsons raise impressive sum for local charity

13 September 2016

Each year, Wilsons' staff maintain an active programme of events to raise funds for their designated chosen charity, which until recently was Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

During the 18 months of fundraising Wilsons raised a total of £8206.65 for the well worthy charity.

Below are some of the ways in which this impressive total was achieved.

A summer of sweepstakes

Sweepstakes were held across the firm for both the Euros and Olympics this summer. By staff taking part and purchasing a country Wilsons managed to raise an impressive £682.00 (and learnt a lot about sport in the process!)

Everybody loves a cake sale

During the fundraising Wilsons raised an impressive £892.19 as a result of taking tips from Mary Berry and baking their way to two cake sales.

Quizzing the staff and Salisbury

The first quiz was held in March 2015 and congratulations goes to Proper Tea who were the winning team with a score of 78 out of 100. The Wilsons Quiz evening raised £335.25 for charity.

After the success of the Wilsons staff quiz the doors were opened to fellow Salisbury companies and a larger quiz evening was held at The White Hart hotel. The evening was such a success that a total of £1,500 was raised in one evening!

A photographer in our midst

Keen photographer, and long-serving member of Wilsons, Andrew Wiltshire escapes the stresses of the workplace by going for long walks in the countryside and capturing special moments with his camera.

You can see some of the beautiful images on his website where he has kindly offered prints and digital copies of his photographs in return for a donation to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Wilsons Wanderers conquered the White Horse Challenge

On Saturday 4th July 2015 the Wilsons Wanderers took part in the White Horse Challenge.

They completed the full 27 mile route starting at 7am in Devizes and walked across to Pewsey via Alton Barnes then up to Marlborough!

All of their sponsorship was donated to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
