Katharine Shaw - partner

Photograph of Katharine ShawKatharine joined Wilsons in May 2004 as a partner in the family law department. She trained at Walker Martineau, where she qualified in 1990. After four years she moved to another London firm, RadcliffesLeBrasseur where she remained for ten years, becoming a partner in the family department in 1997.

Katharine's particular expertise and experience is in advising high net worth clients and dealing with their complex financial affairs, including trusts, tax and pensions.  She advises many clients where there is an international dimension.   

Pre-nuptial agreements are a growing area and many of Katharine's clients receive advice about children's issues including contact, residence and education.

Katharine has been one of the instructing solicitors on two well-known reported cases involving the payment of a wife's maintenance and achieving a clean break, namely Harris v. Harris, a Court of Appeal decision in 2001 and K v. K (periodical payment: cohabitation), a High Court decision of Mr Justice Coleridge in 2005.
