Claris D’cruz - Consultant
Former Charity Commission lawyer, Claris D’cruz, has joined Wilsons as a consultant following six years as head of the Charities Team, and more latterly a consultant, at Dickinson Dees in Newcastle. During her time there Claris earned a five-star rating on charitybuyer.com, based on client review. Claris qualified as a barrister but left the Bar to become an in-house legal adviser for Interchange Trust, a registered charity.
She moved from Interchange to become a legal adviser at the Charity Commission, where her role included advising the registration department on charity registrations and status issues. She is a regular writer and speaker on charity law and practice issues. Specialising in the constitutional and regulatory side of charity law, Claris brings significant experience in charity status matters, Charity Commission inquiries and advising the independent schools sector.
