Ben Thornton - partner
Ben is a partner in the litigation and dispute resolution team. Ben trained at Wilsons and qualified into the department in 2002. He was promoted to associate solicitor in 2008. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and dispute resolution with an emphasis on property disputes. Ben has considerable experience in dealing with Chancery matters and claims relating to rights of way and other easements, boundaries, estoppel and adverse possession. His landlord and tenant practice encompasses residential, commercial and agricultural properties and includes dilapidations claims, lease renewals, forfeiture proceedings, as well as the service of property notices.
On the commercial dispute side Ben deals with professional negligence (against solicitors and surveyors), breach of contract and breach of warranty claims, as well as consumer issues. Ben also has an extensive knowledge of insolvency law and procedure, which has proved extremely useful in the current economic climate.
Ben is a member of the Property Litigation Association and regularly speaks at seminars.
